Admission Official Master's Degree in Psychology of Sport and Physical Activity

Access

Access to this master's degree is open to holders of an official bachelor's degree from a Spanish university or from another higher education institution within or outside the European Higher Education Area, provided this gives access to postgraduate studies in the country of issue.

Admission requirements

Students should hold one of the following university qualifications:
  • Degree in Psychology and in Sciences of Physical Activity and Sport, or equivalent.
  • Degree in Health Sciences in Education Sciencies. The coordinators of the master’s degree will review the academic file of such students, to determine if they have to undertake bridging courses, which will be chosen from a list of subjects detailed below.
Knowledge of English at level B1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages of the European Council is required. In the event that a student does not hold a document accrediting such level, the students may request a comprehension and expression test from the master’s degree committee.

Selection criteria

Should the number of applicants exceed the places on offer, places will be allocated in accordance with the following selection criteria:
  • Bachelor’s degree/pre-EHEA degree in Psychology or Sport Sciences or Physical Education: (30 %)
  • Academic File of the undergraduate degree (30 %)
  • Specific training in the area of Psychology of Sport or specialized post-graduate studies in this area (25 %)
  • Work experience in the field of Psychology of Sport and Physical Activity (10 %). Value will be given if work has been undertaken continuously or sporadically (minimum six months) on tasks related to these professional profiles. To prove such experience, candidates must accredit such experience by means of certificates issued by companies, sports associations or sports centres. The coordinators of the master’s degree will assess, if necessary, the candidates’ professional experience.
  • Motivation letter outlining how to achieve the objectives of the master’s degree arguing their reasons to undertake the master’s degree (5 %).

Complementary training

As indicated in the section on admission, students coming from degree courses different from Psychology or Sciences of Physical Activity and Sport, depending on their academic curriculum, must undertake bridging courses in the area of Psychology, prior to the master’s degree, equivalent to a maximum of 30 credits. Students who should take complementary training courses simultaneously with their attendance to master classes during the first term.
Students coming from university degree courses in Health Sciences must choose bridging courses with a maximum of 15 ECTS from the following subjects:
