This year, the focus of the talk is on the repression suffered by women during the late Francoism, particularly about the student resistance movement and the Women’s Protection Board (Patronato de Protección de la Mujer). The event will feature testimonies from Isabel Alonso, coordinator of the Pedagogy of Memory Commission of the Catalan Association of Former Political Prisoners under Francoism and a former student activist who was persecuted, as well as Maria Forns and Mariona Roca, both of whom personally suffered abuse at the hands of the Patronato de Protección de la Mujer. Additionally, the short film Els Buits, nominated for both the Goya and Gaudí Awards in its category, will be screened.
This is the second consecutive year the activity has been organized, with the support of the Department of Public Law and Historical-Legal Sciences at the Faculty of Law of the Autonomous University of Barcelona.
