The election of delegates for the 2021/22 year begins

The election of delegates for the 2021/22 academic year is underway. Delegates are key to academic follow-up, the betterment of degrees and everyday life in the classroom. They are also the main representatives in front of the faculty and the UAB, and they proved to be essential during the lockdowns at the end of the past academic year.

It is during the first weeks of the course that students choose who their representatives will be: the delegates of their academic group. Each faculty chooses the configuration of academic groups, ranging from an enrolment or course group, to a mention group, for example. The delegate is the representative of the academic group and interlocutor with the faculty and the UAB. Delegates are in contact with the dean’s office, in particular with the coordination of the degree, the vice-dean for students and with the Community Involvement Unit through elCens, the official register for delegates.

Students who first arrive at the UAB will receive a briefing on the delegate's functions and the importance of this figure. From then on, students will be able to present their candidacy as delegates and vote for their representatives online. All information about the calendar, the submission of applications and the voting procedure will be published on the Community Involvement website.

Delegates who want to renew their position, if they have the agreement of the academic group, can do so by filling out a form they will find on the delegate elections' website. The address elcens.participacio@uab.cat can be used to send any doubts about the election and renewal of delegates.

ElCens registers all chosen students and will be updated throughout the process. On 15 November 2021, more than 400 academic groups at the UAB will have chosen a delegate.
