From 14 to 16 October, the Hotel Eden Roc in Sant Feliu de Guíxols hosted the 13th edition of the INc-UAB Research Days, a highly successful event that brought together researchers in a unique setting to share knowledge, present scientific findings and exchange ideas and experiences.

The event welcomed 120 in-person attendees and recorded 100 online views, made possible thanks to the support of Dr Joaquim Hernández. Throughout the meeting, participants presented 18 talks by second-year PhD candidates and 37 scientific posters, highlighting the quality and diversity of the research conducted within our scientific community.

The scientific programme featured plenary talks by Drs Patricia Janak and Yi Zuo, offering attendees the opportunity to learn about their research and scientific perspectives. The programme also included talks by principal investigators (PIs), with presentations by Drs Natalia Lago, Laura Cutando and Adam Ranson.

One of the most special moments of this edition was the session honouring our retired researchers. Drs Xavi Navarro, Antonio Armario and Rafael Torrubia took part in a conversation with the Director of the INc-UAB, Dr Carles Saura, and the event coordinator, Dr Gemma Guillazo. The session provided an opportunity to recognise the three researchers’ professional careers, scientific contributions and lasting legacy within the Institute’s community.

Beyond the scientific programme, the Research Days also offered opportunities for training and social interaction. We would like to extend our special thanks to Neurodocs for organising the evening games, which were great fun, and for arranging Anna Molinet’s talk on how to design scientific posters. This practical and engaging session provided valuable insights into communicating research findings more effectively.

This 13th edition would not have been possible without the support of our sponsors: SENC, Palex, Panlab, Bonsai Lab and Werfen. We are grateful for their collaboration and commitment. We would also like to thank all the speakers, participants and organisers who contributed to making this event possible.

Overall, the three days were filled with science, learning and camaraderie, further consolidating the INc-UAB Research Days as an important meeting point for sharing knowledge, fostering new collaborations and strengthening ties across the scientific community.

Thank you all for making the 13th INc-UAB Research Days such a success!
