Desaf·IA returns for its third edition on 14 May, from 10.00 a.m. to 1.30 p.m., at the study hall in the RR building on plaça Cívica. UAB students and alumni will have one morning to come up with solutions to social and environmental challenges, working in teams and supported by artificial intelligence tools.

There is no need to bring a team or a pre-existing idea. The members of the winning teams will receive individual 60-euro vouchers to spend at Abacus.

Participants will be distributed in multidisciplinary teams formed on the spot, with members from different faculties and schools. Registration is individual: there is no need to bring a team or an idea, but participants will need to bring their own laptop to work during the session.

The teams will use generative artificial intelligence tools, such as ChatGPT or Perplexity, to develop proposals in response to the challenges. The session will be facilitated by Pedro Olivares, a coach specialising in leadership, and will follow the design thinking methodology.

Two challenges based on the SDGs

The two challenges set by the organisers are based on two Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): Sustainable Cities and Communities, and Life on Land. The first promotes more inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable urban environments; the second focuses on protecting biodiversity, restoring natural spaces and using terrestrial ecosystems sustainably.

At the end of the morning, each team will present its proposal to an expert jury, which will select four winning teams —two for each challenge. All members of the winning teams will receive an individual 60-euro voucher to spend at Abacus.

How to register

Registration is free and is done through the NEXUS app. Anyone who does not yet have a user profile can complete a quick and simple "Partial registration".
