Today, the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona hosted the second edition of the Digital Humanities Conference, an event organised by the UAB-cei Digital Humanities Network (XHD).

Presentation of the new Digital Humanities webpage of the UAB at the 2nd UAB Digital Humanities Conference.

The aim of the conference was to highlight the efforts and outcomes of UAB research teams in the field of Digital Humanities, emphasising their role as a strategic hub for interdisciplinary research and innovation.

The conference took place in the Periodicals Room of the UAB Humanities Library, with broad participation from professors, researchers, and students. Attendees had the opportunity to explore 31 research projects, addressing topics such as digital literature, cultural heritage preservation, critical editions of Golden Age theatre, the application of digital technologies in archaeology, and the creation of digital models for the preservation of cultural collections.

A key highlight was the presentation of the CLARIAH-CAT initiative, led by UAB, which facilitates access to European digital infrastructures such as DARIAH and CLARIN. This network enables researchers to connect with other institutions across Europe and share digital resources that support research in Digital Humanities. Additionally, the UAB’s Master’s in Digital Humanities and Cultural Heritage was presented as an innovative academic programme aimed at becoming a reference in the field.

Throughout the day, the UAB’s commitment to creating a leading centre for Digital Humanities was also emphasised, with the aim of promoting cross-disciplinary interaction and fostering collaboration between the academic community and external partners. The conference concluded with thanks to all participants and a renewed commitment to continuing the development of research in this dynamic and interdisciplinary field.
