Laboratori d'Arqueologia Quantitativa

The Quantitative Archaeology Laboratory focuses its research on the development and application of computational and mathematical methods to understand social changes over the past 8,000 years. Its aim is to explain technological evolution throughout history and examine its impact on the transformation of societies.

The research is based on the premise that recent advances in artificial intelligence, complex systems physics, modelling, and computational simulation—techniques commonly used in engineering and the natural sciences—can provide valuable insights for the Social Sciences and Humanities.

The use of technologies such as reverse engineering, geostatistics, 3D simulation, and artificial intelligence tools applied to archaeological data offers new perspectives on past societies, their internal dynamics, and the processes that shaped their evolution.
