e·Chinese Tools. Technologies for teaching and learning Chinese
The e·Chinese Tools project is an initiative aimed at facilitating access to digital resources for teaching and learning Chinese as a foreign language. In recent years, interest in learning Chinese has grown significantly; however, the large quantity and dispersion of materials available online make it difficult for students and teachers to identify high-quality resources.
To address this need, the project has developed a multilingual, open-access database that brings together digital resources selected and evaluated by specialists. The platform allows users to search for materials according to different criteria, such as the type of resource, language level, language skills, or medium of instruction, making it easier to adapt to the needs of different user profiles.
In addition, the project is collaborative and constantly evolving: users can rate resources, suggest new ones, and provide feedback. In this way, e·Chinese becomes a useful tool both for classroom use and for autonomous learning of Chinese.
The main objectives of the e·Chinese project are:
- To gather and systematise digital resources for learning Chinese as a foreign language, with the aim of facilitating access to reliable, high-quality materials for students and teachers.
- To create an open-access, multilingual database that allows users to search and filter resources according to pedagogical and linguistic criteria (type of resource, language skill, level, or medium of instruction).
- To promote a collaborative platform that is constantly evolving, where users can rate, comment on, and suggest new resources, thereby contributing to the continuous improvement of the repository and to the creation of a learning community.
