Digital Reconstruction of the Prehistoric Past (DRAGA)
The project The Digital Reconstruction of the Prehistoric Past: Virtual Reality and Artificial Intelligence for Understanding Social Life in the Neolithic aims to advance and innovate in the theory, methods, and applications of computer simulation and 3D modelling, with the goal of enhancing digital documentation, the study, and presentation of historical heritage. Specifically, it proposes the virtual reconstruction of one of the most important archaeological sites in the Iberian Peninsula and Europe: the well-preserved Neolithic village of La Draga.
The project seeks to develop virtual systems that combine the simulation of social dynamics from the past (using artificial societies based on agent-based distributed simulation) with serious games—educational video games that, despite having a digital aesthetic, are grounded in rigorous historical research and incorporate academic knowledge relevant to children’s education.
