5th Edition of the Award for the Best Doctoral Thesis in Digital Humanities

The International Society for Digital Humanities in the Hispanic World (HDH) and the BBVA Foundation announce the fifth edition of the Award for the Best Doctoral Thesis in Digital Humanities, aimed at recognising research that represents a significant advancement in this field.

Submission deadline: from 11 November 2025 to 9 January 2026 (2:00 p.m., Spanish peninsular time).

Eligible theses: defended between 1 January and 31 December 2024 at a Spanish university, regardless of the author’s nationality or place of residence.

Prize: €5,000 and an official certificate.

Presentation: at a public event where the results of the awarded thesis will be presented.

The jury, composed of specialists from various fields within Digital Humanities, will evaluate innovation, originality, scientific rigour, quality of results and contribution to the field of Digital Humanities.
