3D Capitals: The Cloister of the Monastery of Sant Cugat del Vallès

The project developed by users of the Library Living Lab, in collaboration with the Computer Vision Center and the Sant Cugat Museum, has launched an innovative 3D scanning process for the capitals of the Cloister of the Monastery of Sant Cugat del Vallès. The aim is to create the first 3D digital catalogue of these masterpieces of artistic heritage, allowing for detailed and accessible preservation for future generations.

This initiative opens up new possibilities for experiencing our cultural heritage in a visually stunning way, with a level of detail never achieved before. Furthermore, the 3D models generated facilitate the physical reproduction of the pieces through 3D printing, offering a unique opportunity for the replication and dissemination of these masterpieces in accessible and educational formats.

Collaborating entities: Computer Vision Centre, Sant Cugat City Council, Barcelona Provincial Council, and Sant Cugat Museum.
