The UAB ranks top public university in the CYD ranking
The ranking of the top Spanish campuses carried out annually by the Fundación Conocimiento y Desarrollo (CYD), which this year reaches its 13th edition, places the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and the Carlos III de Madrid (UC3M) as the two top public universities in Spain.
The CyD Foundation presents the results of the thirteenth edition of the CyD ranking for Spanish universities. This classification is produced in association with the international ranking U-Multirank, with which it shares methodological principles and most of the indicators, adding some indicators that are unique to the Spanish university system. The report analyses 84 universities, 48 public and 36 private, 31 areas of knowledge, and 3,909 degrees. In this edition, the University of Navarra (privately owned) is the one that leads the ranking.
The ranking takes into account 36 indicators that are grouped into different sections, such as teaching and learning, research, knowledge transfer, internationalisation, contribution to regional development, and job placement. In knowledge transfer, the UAB and the Rovira i Virgili University share first position with the UC3M, the Autonomous University of Madrid (UAM), and the Technical University of Madrid (UPM). The UAB is also the best ranked in international orientation, along with the UC3M, the University of Navarra and the Ramon Llull University; and is among the top three in contribution to regional development. In terms of areas of knowledge, the UAB leads the field of history and is among the top three in Spain in sociology, economics, political science, education, earth sciences, law, environmental engineering, and journalism and communication.
