Introduction

The Master's Degree in Advanced English Studies offers students the opportunity to choose a specialisation in:
  • The Acquisition of English and Intercultural Communication
  • Literature and Culture
This Master's degree provides theoretical and applied training in English Studies addressing contemporary issues in language, literature, and culture.
 
The programme in Advanced English Studies is addressed to graduates with a Bachelor's degree as well as holders of other higher education degrees with a proficient level of English. It is open to students from different disciplines wishing to gain formal training in advanced English studies. This Master's degree programme is offered by the Department of  English and Germanic Studies in the Faculty of Arts and Humanities.

Career options

This is a research-oriented degree programme providing a solid training in the main perspectives of each specialisation offered. Career options once the degree is completed include: research and PhD studies, a higher qualification to undertake the teaching of English at primary or university level education, English for business purposes such as publishing houses or media companies, research or a PhD programme.
