Quantitative Archeology Laboratory

Our research focuses on the experimentation and development of computational and mathematical methods aimed at understanding the changes in society in the last 8000 years. We intend to explain technological change through history, and its consequences in social change. Our research is based on the assumption that the latest advances in artificial intelligence, complex system physics, modeling techniques and computational simulation, currently in use in engineering and natural sciences, can be applied to the social sciences and humanities . Technologies such as reverse engineering, geostatistics, 3D simulation, and artificial intelligence tools, applied to archaeological data, can provide new insights into past societies, their dynamics, and their evolution.
