Since the publication of the first ISO 9000 standards in 1987 for quality management, ISO standards (International Organization for Standardization) have undergone continuous evolution to adapt to the needs of the business world. These standards provide valid benchmarks for achieving competitiveness in any private or public organization through the implementation of key management principles, regardless of the sector. In this regard, the main ISO standards that have emerged as a result of this evolution are the ISO 14000 series for environmental management and ISO 45000 for occupational health and safety management.
