This training is aimed at secondary and high school teachers, who are key agents in achieving the fifth Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) of the 2030 Agenda established by the United Nations General Assembly (Commitment to gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls). The goal is to offer an introduction to the study of women in the ancient world, covering the Near East, Egypt, Greece, and Rome. To do so, the course will be based on the analysis and commentary of textual sources, both literary and epigraphic, while also incorporating data from the most recent historical and archaeological research. The set of studied data should allow us to better understand and appreciate the participation of women in their respective communities, both in the private spherehistorically typified as feminine-and, above all, in the public sphere, where current findings and research are having a particularly significant impact.
