Hearing and balance are essential functions for communication and perception of our surroundings. Alterations in the auditory and vestibular systems can significantly impact quality of life, causing disorders such as vertigo, instability, and other balance dysfunctions. The Devices for Vestibular Diagnosis and Rehabilitation course provides comprehensive training on the technologies used to assess and treat balance and vertigo disorders. It will cover the main vestibular pathologies as well as the most advanced diagnostic equipment. Additionally, rehabilitation strategies based on therapeutic exercises, vestibular retraining therapy, and virtual reality platforms will be presented, ensuring a practical and up-to-date approach.
Targeted at hearing aid specialists, audiologists, ENT doctors, nurses, engineers, and other audiology professionals, the course will equip participants to identify vestibular pathologies, use diagnostic devices, and develop personalized rehabilitation plans. Through the analysis of clinical cases, the practical application of acquired knowledge will be encouraged, ensuring solid training focused on current clinical and technological realities.
We present this training with the aim of responding to a growing need for specialized education in the field of audiology. This demand has been expressed by various involved institutions, including healthcare centers, educational entities, and research organizations (ANA, National Association of Hearing Aid Specialists; CREDA, Resource Center for Students with Hearing Disabilities; ENT Department of the Germans Trias i Pujol Hospital; ENT and Head and Neck Surgery Department of the Hospital de Sant Pau), which have identified the need to update and expand knowledge in technologies applied to hearing health. This program is born out of the desire to provide comprehensive and advanced training that addresses the current challenges of the sector and contributes to improving audiological care.
