Hearing is a fundamental sense for communication and perception of our surroundings. The human auditory system is composed of complex structures that transform sound waves into nerve impulses interpreted by the brain, allowing us not only to hear but also to localize sounds and understand spoken language. Disruptions in any of these processes can lead to various auditory pathologies, such as sensorineural hearing loss or central auditory processing disorders.

Hearing aids and cochlear implants are key devices in the treatment of hearing loss, improving the quality of life for affected individuals. The selection of these devices varies depending on the type and degree of hearing loss, adapting to each patient’s needs. This Evaluation provides in-depth knowledge of technological solutions for the treatment of hearing loss.

We present this training program in response to a growing need for specialized education in the field of audiology. This demand has been expressed by various involved institutions, including healthcare centers, educational entities, and research organizations (ANA, National Association of Hearing Aid Specialists; CREDA, Educational Resource Center for Students with Hearing Disabilities; ENT Department of the Germans Trias i Pujol Hospital; ENT and Head and Neck Surgery Department of the Hospital de Sant Pau), which have identified the need to update and expand knowledge in technologies applied to hearing health. This program is designed to offer comprehensive and advanced training that addresses current challenges in the sector and contributes to improving audiological care.
