This expert diploma consists of the theoretical part of the specialization diploma in Journalistic Production in radio, TV, and press. The objective is to deepen the training of future radio and television producers, but also to provide tools to any journalist who, in the exercise of their work, will need to produce interviews and reports. The degrees in Journalism and Audiovisual Communication from the main Catalan universities do not delve deeply enough into that part of journalistic work that takes place before conducting an interview or writing a report, and which usually occupies more than 50% of their time.
How to find, contact, and schedule interviews with relevant and/or anonymous people? How to prepare the filming of an audiovisual piece outdoors or an informative documentary? The diploma aims to train students in both the most journalistic aspects of production work and the logistical ones, which are equally or more important. The theoretical training will be provided by professionals in journalistic production who are currently working in the main media outlets in Catalonia. The theory will be divided into three blocks: production in radio, television, and general press. Attention will be paid to technological innovations, such as artificial intelligence applied to journalistic production.
The diploma ends with a mandatory Final Diploma Project (TFD). With the attainment of the expert diploma, there is the possibility of opting for the specialization diploma in a subsequent course. The theoretical part can be validated and the 15-credit producer internship can be completed in one of the main audiovisual media outlets in Catalonia.
