This course aims to meet the training requirements required by RD 53/2013 and EU Directive 63/2010. This legislation defines, among others, two functions for which prior training is required and which are relevant if you want to do a doctorate in an area that requires the use of animal models: the performance of procedures and the design of procedures and projects. In addition, the course covers the necessary requirements for the functions of animal care and euthanasia.
Completing this course will allow you to obtain the training to perform (functions a, b and c according to Decree 53/2013) and design (function d according to Decree 53/2013) procedures that require the use of animal models.
FELASA accreditation, in addition to guaranteeing quality standards, facilitates the recognition of these skills in European Union countries.
The first two weeks of the course are face-to-face. The subsequent ones are individualized work (resolution of practical cases) that will be delivered by email.

- Basic biology of laboratory species
- Animal counting, health and management
- Animal welfare
