InfoK 25th Anniversary Conference: The Challenge of Informing Children in the Digital Environment
Description:
On 23 October at 9:30 a.m., the UAB and the Catalan Broadcasting Corporation will be hosting a conference in celebration of 25 years of the programme InfoK, under the title "El repte d’informar als infants en l’entorn digital" [The Challenge of Informing Children in the Digital Environment]. The conference will take place in the Aula Magna of the UAB Faculty of Communication Studies. To attend, one must register here. The event aims to reflect on and debate the way information is presented to children, as well as its educational aspect and the challenge facing the media in a context where screens define adolescent media consumption.
There will be three round-table discussions organised around the three aforementioned debate axes. Journalists affiliated with InfoK and researchers from across the country in information, childhood, education, outreach and psychology will take part. The opening address will be delivered by Lewis James, editor of the BBC's children's news programme “Newsround”.

Rapid HIV and Syphilis Testing
Description:
On 16 November, the UAB Resource Centre will host a rapid HIV and syphilis testing event. The tests are free, confidential and provide results in a short time. The event will also offer information and guidance on sexual health and the prevention of sexually transmitted infections (STIs).
This initiative is part of the activities marking World AIDS Day (1 December) and aims to promote sexual health, encourage the early detection of STIs and help reduce the stigma that still surrounds HIV. The event seeks to promote evidence-based sexual health education, raise awareness of available prevention tools and highlight the importance of knowing one’s HIV status in order to make informed decisions about personal health. It also aims to create spaces for awareness and dialogue that help challenge prejudice and foster a positive, safe and respectful approach to sexuality.
Prior registration is required via WhatsApp at +34 619 77 86 56 or through @provavih.actua (Instagram account).
