On 10 and 11 June, the University of Trento, Italy, will host a new edition of the annual forum organised by the ECIU, the UAB's European alliance. This annual meeting brings together students, lecturers, researchers and administrative staff, as well as external stakeholders, with the aim of fostering collaborations and boosting innovation in the area of higher education and research.

ECIU students, staff, researchers and stakeholders participating in the forum will be able to lay the groundwork for future collaborations.

Under the slogan of “Innovation for Sustainable Futures”, the forum will offer two full days of workshops, debates and co-creation spaces with the goal of generating transformative ideas, sharing experiences, and building solutions that have a real impact on society. The forum is part of the activities organised by the ECIU, the UAB's European alliance, co-funded by the European Union.

The UAB will be institutionally represented by a delegation made up of 13 people, including students, lecturers and researchers (PDI), and technical, adminsitrative and service personnel (PTGAS). The delegation will be headed by Ramon Vilanova, vice-rector for Studies and Quality.

The forum's programme also includes the active participation of two UAB lecturers who will be offering two sessions:

  • Silvia Blanch, Department of Basic, Developmental and Educational Psychology: CBL Cappuccino: Energizing Higher Education for Sustainable Futures
  • Teresa Sordé, Department of Sociology: Amplifying the Impact of CBL through the “Future of Regenerative Living” Case

The winners of the Team Impact Award 2025 will also be presented in the forum. This award is given in recognition of ECIU teams demostrating an exceptional collaboration when solving real-life challenges. The winners will have the chance to present their experiences during the event.

Last year the ECIU University Forum held at the Kaunas University of Technology in Lithuania was a success, with more than 200 participants from 14 ECIU member institutions, including a special guest delegation from Ukraine. The UAB's representation consisted of a delegation of 15 people, including students, lecturers and administrative staff. The participants highlighted the personal and professional enrichment gained, as well as the strong sense of belonging to the ECIU community.
