The UAB participates in the I Forum of Spanish Universities in European Universities
The event, held on 4 and 5 November at the Universidad Rey Juan Carlos, Madrid, brought together representatives of Spanish universities that are part of the European alliances, with the aim of strengthening the ties of cooperation between educational institutions in Spain.
The UAB is part of the ECIU, a European alliance aiming to transform higher education with challenges that have a real impact on society.
The UAB participated in the I Forum of Spanish Universities in European Universities (UEUE), a meeting that allowed sharing experiences and promoting new lines of cooperation between the Spanish universities integrated in these alliances. Among the specific goals of the meeting are:
- Facilitating the exchange of good practices and sharing results, experiences and knowledge between the participating universities;
- Fostering cooperation between all parties involved with the aim of establishing new networks and strengthening existing ones, creating a collaborative environment;
- Discussing and finding joint solutions to the problems, challenges and common needs faced by the UEUE group at a national level;
- Identifying and promoting initiatives that drive the transformation of higher education and the UEUE group.
Attending on behalf of the UAB were Oscar Jané, vice-rector of International Relations and member of the ECIU Board; Ramon Vilanova, vice-rector for Studies and Quality; and Mireia Galí, institutional coordinator of the ECIU University Alliance at the UAB.
Within the UEUE, the UAB coordinates the Microcredentials Working Group given the expertise of the ECIU Alliance, a pioneer in its implementation within the framework of the Alliances, and of the university itself. Oscar Jané, Ramon Vilanova and Mireia Galí led the session held on 4 November, focused on the recognition and implementation of Microcredentials at the European level. In the session, a set of practices was presented regarding its use and a debate among all participants was encouraged.
The forum served as a platform for the exchange of ideas and opinions between representatives of the universities and to promote a network of collaboration that transcends national borders.
