The Expert Diploma in Surgical Nursing in Robotic Surgery is an advanced training program designed to equip nurses with the specific skills required in the robotic surgical environment. With a total of 21 ECTS credits, the program integrates theory, real-world practice, and competency development to offer a comprehensive and highly applicable educational experience.
The curriculum combines:
- Specialized theoretical training (9 ECTS)
- Practicum in robotic surgery operating rooms (9 ECTS)
- Final Project (3 ECTS)
This structure allows students to acquire not only knowledge, but also hands-on experience in high-tech environments.
Throughout the program, you will develop the key competencies to act with safety, autonomy, and clinical judgment in all phases of the robotic surgical process: from patient and equipment preparation to intraoperative assistance and robotic system management.
In addition, this diploma combines technological excellence with a humanistic approach, focusing on patient safety and quality of caretwo essential pillars in the surgery of today and tomorrow.
The theoretical part (9 ECTS) can also be taken independently as a specialization course, offering you the flexibility to adapt your learning pathway according to your needs.
Graduates of this diploma can practice as scrub and support nurses in robotic surgery, participating directly in surgical procedures as specialized scrub or circulating nurses. This role involves room preparation, the management of robotic equipment, and coordination with the surgical team, ensuring patient safety and the efficiency of the operative workflow.
2. Robotic Surgery Nurse Lead or Coordinator
They can also develop their careers as nurse leads or coordinators for robotic surgery programs, leading the implementation and consolidation of this technology within surgical services. This profile assumes responsibilities in staff supervision and training, the development and updating of protocols, process management, and liaising with multidisciplinary teams, clinical management, and the medical technology industry.
3. Expert Nurse in Training, Simulation, and Technological Innovation
Another career path is that of a nurse specialized in training, simulation, and technological innovation, participating in the design and delivery of educational programs for surgical teams, particularly within simulation environments. This profile contributes to innovation and applied research projects, as well as the evaluation and integration of new technologies, including training in both technical and non-technical skills.
4. Advanced Practice Nurse in Minimally Invasive and Robotic Surgery
Finally, graduates can practice as advanced practice nurses in minimally invasive and robotic surgery, assuming roles in clinical consulting, patient follow-up, and coordination of the surgical process.
