Ideal student profile

The ideal students for this course should have the following capacities, prior knowledge and interests.

- Capacity to analyse phenomena in an abstract manner; to revise, criticise and summarise analyses, essays and articles; to distinguish, relate and classify concepts; to organise their time; to work in groups and adapt easily to changes.

- Knowledge of the mass media, of qualitative research methods and of English equivalent to the upper intermediate level B2.1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

- A strong interest in the analysis of mass communication processes, research methodologies, interactions between the media and individuals and between the media and society.

Basic skills

  • Knowledge and understanding that provide a basis or opportunity for originality in developing and / or applying ideas, often in a research context.
  • That the students can apply their knowledge and their ability to solve problems in new or unfamiliar environments within broader (or multidisciplinary) contexts related to their field of study.
  • That students are able to integrate knowledge and handle complexity and formulate judgments based on information that was incomplete or limited, include reflecting on social and ethical responsibilities linked to the application of their knowledge and judgments.
  • Students can communicate their conclusions and the knowledge and rationale underpinning these to specialist and non-specialist audiences clearly and unambiguously.
  • That students have the learning skills that enable them to continue studying in a way that will be largely self-directed or autonomous.

Specific skills

  • Design, projects basic research: Journalism Sciences Communications.
  • Design, create and develop applied research projects in Journalism and Communication Sciences.
  • Guide and assess research and action projects in Journalism and Communication Sciences
  • Guide and assess projects in Cyberjournalism, Communication Policies and andrological communication.
  • Create and manage scientific publications related to the fields of Communication Sciences and Journalism.
  • Organise and manage scientific activities such as conferences, meetings, workshops or seminars on Journalism and Communication.
