Official Master's Degree in Cognitive Science and Language
Five of the leading Catalan universities participate in this master's degree. The programme offers an interdisciplinary approach to the research disciplines of cognitive sciences, with special attention put on linguistic abilities.
The programme responds to the need to strengthen interactions among the different fields making up the cognitive neurosciences. The master's degree trains researchers who, from their respective specialities, are able to make these connections with the aim of better understanding language perception, acquisition and processing, the relationship between syntax, semantics and cognition, the logical structure of language and the epistemic and conceptual foundations of its study.
Taking this into account, the programme is structured around the following specialisations:
a) Logic and Philosophy
b) Grammatical Theory and Language Processing
c) Cognitive Processing Models
You also have the possibility of enrolling in modules from any of the three specialisations with the aim of acquiring new knowledge on the main principles and methods of analytical philosophy, linguistics and cognitive psychology applied to the study of language.
