Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (affiliated centre)

CLINICAL PRACTICES

The 81 credits of the Practicum subject are distributed in 7 subjects: one of 9 ECTS and six of 12 ECTS. In addition, a subject of 12 ECTS of External Practices offered in the itineraries must be compulsorily taken, in such a way that they add up to a total of 93 ECTS of practices, equivalent to 2,325 hours. Approximately 70% of the practices are carried out at the Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau.

The practices are contextualized in hospital, social-health and community care environments. The student learns to provide nursing care to people throughout their vital context from the beginning to the end of life, in different settings and with different complexities, whether due to acute or complex situations.

The practical experiences make available to the student real situations that allow them to apply the knowledge, skills and attitudes learned throughout the studies and, at the same time, develop new knowledge and acquire the necessary skills to be able to offer quality nursing care.

The practices are supervised in care environments and constitute a fundamental element to develop nursing skills.

The purpose of the External Practices subject is to facilitate the integration of theoretical knowledge, skills and attitudes specific to the degree as well as to guide the student in their learning process towards professionalization, applying a work methodology based on the Virginia Henderson model. .
