What are the UAB Open Labs?
A Living Lab is a digital innovation laboratory working for cohesion in the territory in which it based. It facilitates the development of tools and strategies based on open and collaborative innovation in real life environments.
A Living Lab is a sample bank and a place for experimentation where users can co-create innovations. Its main objective is to create new products and infrastructures appropriate to the needs of society and the region. It offers the spaces to develop them and test technological prototypes which seek to improve the lives of the citizens. These processes involve both public and private teams.

The define the structure of the UAB Open Labs, the spaces, uses, management model and policy for relations with other service on the campus or external projects, the UAB carried out co-creation process involving the participation of everyone in the university community.
That process took place over three design thinking sessions between January to March 2018 and resulted in the collection of a series of views and expectations from the community regarding the initiative.
