Description:

Journalist and communicator of 3Cat and Catalunya Ràdio, Elisenda Carod, will present a Masterclass on La Marató de 3Cat on Wednesday 8 October in which some of the top people responsible for this solidarity programme will explain what a project of the magnitude of La Marató de 3Cat is like and how it is prepared, a telemarathon that has already become a benchmark at European communication level.

The class will feature Juan José Perona, dean of the Faculty of Communication Studies at the UAB; Lluís Bernabé, director of the 3Cat La Marató Foundation; Aleix Bou, creative head of the 3Cat Marketing Department; Jordi Català, director of the Audience and Analysis Area at 3Cat; Oriol Talon, director of TV3's La Marató for 2024 and 2025; and Virgínia Luzón, vice-rector for Communication at the UAB. Presenter Elisenda Carod, co-presenter in several editions of La Marató, will also provide her personal experience.                 

Attendees will be able to see first-hand how a programme as complex and diverse as La Marató is organised, where different programme formats coincide - discussion panels, entertainment, news, interviews - and with such an extensive duration of live television.

There will be a Q&A session before ending the event.

Description:

On October 24th, 2025, we look forward to welcoming you to the "Dimensions of R&D" event, organized by the Xarxa Alumni UAB of Nanotechnology and Nanosciences. The goal of the event is to provide a comprehensive perspective on the R&D ecosystem—its key players and interests, how R&D is funded, and the importance of valuing the knowledge generated.

The event will be structured into several blocks, each focusing on different aspects and areas of R&D work. Each block will last 25 minutes, consisting of 15 minutes of theoretical presentation followed by 10 minutes for questions and open discussion with the audience.

Total duration: From 8:30 AM to 1:00 PM, including a coffee break.

The event is especially geared toward Pre-Doctoral and Post-Doctoral researchers, but it is open to anyone interested.

The UAB Innovation Week has clear defined objectives:

• 21/10 - 3:30 p.m. Arquímedes Accelerator Kick-Off. The UAB Arquímedes Accelerator launches a new edition with the presentation of the selected entrepreneurial projects. [+]
• 21/10 - 6:00 p.m. Eines Awards Gala. The UAB Chair in Social Entrepreneurship and Innovation hosts the awards ceremony for the Eines Awards, which recognize the best social transformation projects in three categories: general, Vallès-based, and local. [+]

Description:

The UAB Mentor Programme, an initiative by the Alumni UAB aiming to accompany final-year students in the development of their professional careers, is entering its third edition this year. On 19 November at 5:30 p.m., the Rectorat building will host a presentation event in which participating students will meet their mentors, people who come from the professional world. This year, there will be 155 student-mentor pairs.

The event will feature institutional welcome speeches from UAB Rector Javier Lafuente and Vice-Rector for Students and Employability Annabel Galan. Following the speeches, instructor Lluís Bernabé will lead the activity "Professional self-knowledge: Do I know what my relationship and communication style is?", in which participants will work on the DISC questionnaire, a self-diagnosis tool that helps identify relationship and communication styles in the personal and professional spheres. This activity will help them learn to recognise and adapt to different interaction styles and thus improve their ability to relate effectively.

After the success of the pilot experience in the 2022/23 academic year and the first two editions, Alumni UAB is launching the third edition of its mentoring programme this year, in which alumni with professional leadership experience will guide students to discover their potential, understand the job market, and develop an action plan for their future.

Benefits for mentees include improved knowledge of their skills, empowerment for their professional career, a greater understanding of their sector, and confidence in developing their action plan. In return, mentors have the opportunity to share their experience, contribute to the growth of new generations, and participate in ongoing training in leadership and communication skills.
