This programme addresses the needs of various professional sectors and specific groups involved in the archival processing (that is, the identification, classification, arrangement, description, preservation, and dissemination) of Catalan written documentation from the medieval and early modern periods.

The programme's content is delivered through subjects offering methodological specialisation in this specific field of archival studies, while also combining the traditional knowledge associated with these information assets with their possibilities for digital processing and exploitation.
The training is structured around five subjects and a Final Project, for a total of 30 ECTS, to be completed over approximately one and a half years. Subject 2 is worth 9 ECTS; Subjects 1 and 3, as well as the Final Project, are worth 3 ECTS each; while Subjects 4 and 5 are worth 6 ECTS each:
- Subject 1: Medieval diplomatic Latin and Old Catalan for reading historical texts (3 ECTS)
- Subject 2: Medieval and Early Modern paleography and diplomatics (9 ECTS)
- Subject 3: Codicology and analysis of ancient and printed books (3 ECTS)
- Subject 4: Medieval and Early Modern historical collections: analysis of institutions and their documentary production (6 ECTS)
- Subject 5: Preservation and dissemination of medieval and early modern documentary heritage (6 ECTS)
- Final Project (3 ECTS)
