Research
The teaching and research staff attached to the Department of Telecommunications and Systems Engineering carry out intense research work related to the different areas of knowledge of the department.
The main lines of research of the department are:

- Signal and data analysis
- Global satellite navigation systems
- Positioning techniques for 5G
- Decision support tools for air traffic management
- Socio-technical simulation models
- Unmanned air traffic management and U-space services
- Control of environmental systems and renewable energies.

The scientific activity of the department is international in scope and has the institutional support of the Government of Catalonia through the Research Groups Support (SGR) programme.
The different research groups carry out their work through national and international competitive projects as well as through agreements with administrations, institutions and other entities.
The department welcomes national and international research staff and visiting professors who contribute to increasing the quality of its research.
