The 7th edition of Emprèn Pitch: 90 seconds to present an entrepreneurial idea and win a trip
The UAB is organizing this individual pitching contest for students, in which each participant has 90 seconds to give an oral presentation of their entrepreneurial idea or project. Registration is open until 1 December and the final will be held on 10 December.
A pitch is a brief, concise verbal presentation of an entrepreneurial idea or project. It is a common technique in the business world, where communication skills play a decisive role.
Any UAB student with an entrepreneurial idea or a real project of their own can take part. To compete, participants must record a video of no more than one and a half minutes with their presentation.
How to take part
Registration involves two steps and must be completed before 1 December. First, participants must register in the NEXUS app:
Next, they must submit their video through the participation form:
The final
A professional jury will select the 20 best videos. The finalists will compete on Thursday 10 December at 13:00 at the Emprèn UAB space (Plaça Cívica). There, they will once again have just 90 seconds to deliver their pitch, this time live in front of the jury and the other participants.
The jury will assess the presentation, the originality and degree of innovation of the idea, its potential social impact and its viability, among other aspects. The three best individual presentations will win a Waynabox surprise trip to a European city, valued at 250 euros.
Prior training
All participants can sign up for a free public speaking workshop, 'Speak, make an impact and win', on Tuesday 1 December. The session covers the keys to speaking in public with confidence and clarity. Attendance is not required to compete.
Emprèn Pitch is a competition organized by the Entrepreneurship Unit of the UAB Employability Service, as part of Emprèn UAB.
