From 3 to 5 November, Emprèn UAB will be participating in the Barcelona Deep Tech Summit, where it will be showcasing five spin-offs and start-ups, as well as two entrepreneurial projects in the pre-constitution phase, at its own stand. These seven initiatives will have the opportunity to publicise their technologies and present their projects to agents from the entrepreneurial and investment ecosystem.

The UAB will participate in the latest edition of the Barcelona Deep Tech Summit, taking place from 3 to 5 November at Fira de Barcelona's Gran Via venue, as part of the Smart City Expo World Congress. Organised by Barcelona Activa in collaboration with five Catalan universities, this meeting brings together companies with a scientific and technological focus, investors, corporations, and innovation ecosystem agents to promote the transfer of disruptive technologies to the market.

This year, the UAB will have its own stand to promote seven entrepreneurial initiatives linked to the university, including the companies Aeinnova, Bioeclosion, Tecous, Brainmapp and Balux Vision, as well as the Torion and Opticmizing projects in the pre-constitution phase.

The five participating companies are developing innovative solutions in areas such as health, biotechnology, artificial intelligence, and the digitalisation of processes:

  • Aeinnova develops wireless industrial sensors and batteries that use the residual heat from production processes to generate their own energy. This technology enables industrial equipment to be monitored, potential breakdowns to be anticipated and maintenance to be optimised, thereby improving energy efficiency, reducing costs and minimising the industry's environmental impact.
  • Bioeclosion develops portable diagnostic tools based on biosensors and molecular technologies that enable the rapid detection of biomarkers and pathogens, with applications in healthcare.
  • Tecous transforms complex legal and administrative documents into visual, accessible, and traceable digital experiences to facilitate understanding and management of information.
  • Brainmapp develops software that automates the registration and visualisation of brain maps during surgical interventions. This software relates stimulation points to patient responses and integrates brain images to support clinical decision-making.
  • Balux Vision applies artificial vision and artificial intelligence to the textile industry, detecting defects in fabrics in real time and automatically stopping machines. It also offers a digital platform to monitor production, facilitating traceability and data analysis.

The stand will also host two entrepreneurial projects in the pre-constitution phase that aim to bring new technologies to market.

  • Torion is developing an innovative therapy for Parkinson's disease based on a peptide that is administered intranasally. The therapy aims to modify the course of the disease. The project aims to advance the drug's development towards clinical trials.
  • OPTICmizing develops optical sensors that automate processes in the agri-food industry. Its first solution, pHotoYOGURT, monitors the pH of yoghurt in real time without the need for manual sampling, with the aim of improving production efficiency, quality, and sustainability.

In addition to their presence in the exhibition space, the seven initiatives will participate in pitch sessions during the fair, presenting their value propositions, technologies and growth opportunities to potential partners and investors.
