'Ideàrium': new free design thinking course to turn ideas into prototypes
The UAB has opened registration for 'Ideàrium', a hands-on design thinking course in which participants work in teams to turn real challenges into projects and develop prototypes. The course is free, carries 1 ECTS credit and runs on Thursdays from 8 October to 26 November 2026, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., at the Espai Emprèn UAB. Registration is through NEXUS.
'Ideàrium' is a hands-on design thinking course for UAB students and alumni interested in generating innovative solutions to real problems. Over eight sessions, teams learn to analyse problems, understand the needs of users, generate ideas, develop physical or digital prototypes and validate them before presenting them.
An eight-session journey
The programme begins on 8 October with the analysis of the challenges, the selection of these and the formation of teams, and continues with design research and the study of users. The middle sessions focus on ideation, creativity in team settings and prototype development. The final stretch covers initial branding, prototype validation and the visual and verbal preparation of high-impact presentations, culminating in the final project presentations on 26 November.
The course is taught by David Hernández, an industrial designer and musician, a member of the ARTIFICIA creative team and founder of BEYOND COLLAPSE. Sessions take place at the Espai Emprèn UAB, in building RR, first floor, above the Plaça Cívica bar.
Recognition and registration
The course carries 1 ECTS credit. To obtain it, participants must attend at least 80% of the sessions and submit and present the final project.
Registration is through the NEXUS application. Anyone who does not yet have a profile can complete a partial registration, a quick and simple procedure that allows them to sign up for the activity.
