The Arquímedes Accelerator is launching a new series of workshops designed to support the growth of spin-off companies from the UAB
Between September and November, the programme will offer six specialist sessions, as well as a day dedicated to entrepreneurship and spin-offs, which will be held as part of UAB's Innovation Week.
The UAB's Arquímedes Accelerator is launching a new edition of its workshop programme aimed at knowledge-based companies and university spin-offs looking to strengthen their organisation and business strategy, and expand their business model.
The programme comprises six practical sessions led by experts specialising in critical business development areas such as business organisation, taxation, financial projections, financing, investor communication, B2B sales, regulatory compliance, and data protection.
The sessions will provide participating companies with tools applicable to their business, help them to anticipate the needs associated with growth, and enable them to make more informed decisions at the various stages of project consolidation.
Six specialist sessions to tackle the challenges of growth
The programme begins on 8 September with a session on business organisation led by Adriana Lafuente, founder of Alverum Legal Partners, from 3.00 pm to 6.00 pm. This workshop will cover the key factors to consider when structuring a business for orderly growth.
On 15 September, Marta Puig, partner and head of the tax department at Durán-Sindreu, will lead a session on taxation. This session will provide a practical overview of the tax obligations of companies and the tax issues that may arise as they develop.
The third session, on 29 September, will focus on financial projections and funding. Led by Jorge Tejero, M&A Manager at HöK Capital, it will provide tools for drawing up financial forecasts, analysing a company's financial needs, and preparing for the search for funding.
The programme is expected to continue on 13 October with an 'Elevator Pitch' session. This workshop will help participants to practise presenting their business project clearly, concisely, and convincingly to potential investors, clients, or partners.
A B2B sales session aimed at strengthening the commercial strategy of companies offering products will be held on 10 November.
On 24 November, the series will conclude with a session on compliance and data protection, led by Sandra Soler and Núria Galera from Durán-Sindreu. This workshop will explore the key regulatory obligations impacting businesses and offer insights on incorporating legal compliance and data protection into their operations.
The sessions will be held in the Sala Emprèn UAB and the Sala Polivalente in the Eureka Building on the UAB campus.
A conference dedicated to entrepreneurship and spin-offs
As part of UAB’s Innovation Week, a conference on entrepreneurship and spin-offs will be held on 20 October from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm.
This event will provide a platform to showcase business projects originating from the university and facilitate the sharing of experiences, as well as fostering connections between companies, research staff, stakeholders in the entrepreneurial ecosystem, and other individuals involved in knowledge transfer and innovation.
