Last Thursday, the final of the sixth edition of the 'Emprèn Pitch' competition was held at the Emprèn UAB space, awarding the three best presentations with a Waynabox surprise trip. The final featured 15 finalists, who had 90 seconds to defend their project before a professional jury.

Winners Emprèn Pitch 2025
Javi Piulachs, Fátima Rosales and Ivan Delgado.

UAB hosted a new edition of Emprèn Pitch, the individual pitching competition promoted by the Entrepreneurship Unit of the Employability Service, in which students present an entrepreneurial idea in a brief and direct way. The final focused on communication skills and the ability to summarise, with pitch-format presentations lasting only a minute and a half.

After the presentations by the 15 finalists and the jury’s deliberation, the winning projects were:

  • Ivan Delgado Daza, with CYCLOAD: an innovative machine that transforms leftover plastic from 3D printing into high-quality filament to be reused in new prints, optimising the production process, reducing costs and promoting circularity.
  • Fátima Rosales Quesnel, with Chido Maíz: a sustainable food project that brings to Barcelona the taste of esquites (a Mexican street snack served in a cup), using corn grown in Spain and biodegradable packaging made from the husks, promoting a circular-economy model.
  • Javi Piulachs Cervantes, with Chupetón: a popsicle-style ice cream inspired by popular cocktail flavours such as mojito, made with natural products and designed to liven up parties, festivals and late-afternoon events, with a modern and bold communication style.

The three winners received as a prize a Waynabox surprise trip to a European city, valued at €250.

This year’s jury was made up of Sílvia Piqueras, Director of the UAB Employability Service; Ana María Enrique, Professor at the Faculty of Communication Sciences; Minerva Estruch, Entrepreneurship Technician at the Employability Service; and Víctor Cepero, PhD candidate at the Computer Vision Center, co-founder of the Brainmapp startup and winner of the latest edition of the Santander X Awards.

Beyond the recognition, participants will be able to access mentoring from the Entrepreneurship Unit to continue developing their ideas and projects.
