Dario Cottafava, BIOMA's CSO and UAB professor, will lead 'The Entrepreneur's Corner' at the Emprèn UAB space
The session will focus on Cottafava’s entrepreneurial experience at BIOMA, a startup that develops biodegradable, circular biomaterials from organic waste. It will take place on Thursday, 16 October 2025, at 11:00 a.m., at the Emprèn UAB space, at Plaça Cívica. Free registration via the NEXUS app.
In the first session of this year’s “The Entrepreneur’s Corner,” attendees will get first-hand insight into the challenges and opportunities of circular reconversion through the entrepreneurial experience of Dario Cottafava, CSO and advisor at BIOMA. In addition to being a social entrepreneur, the speaker is also a researcher and professor at the UAB Faculty of Economics and Business.
BIOMA transforms organic waste into biodegradable, circular and vegan biomaterials for use in sectors such as textiles, leather and industrial design; the session will use the development of this project as a common thread to draw out tools and best practices for aspiring entrepreneurs.

The UAB Emprèn space is located at Plaça Cívica, on the first floor of the RR building, above the bar.
