Peces dentals d'ovelles de la Cova de El Toro mostrejades en l'estudi

Early herding communities of the Southern Iberian Peninsula used a wide variety of livestock management strategies

The study of the feeding pattern of sheep in the Cueva de El Toro, Malaga, some 7,200 years ago demonstrates that livestock management practices of the Western Mediterranean during the Old Neolithic were far more varied than believed until now. This reinforces the hypothesis that Neolithic groups in the south of the peninsula were characterised by their complexity and ability to cover large distances throughout the territory. The research has been led by researchers of the UAB Prehistory Department and published in PLOS ONE.
