Work experience in educational institutions

In the final year of the mathematics degree, students get to enjoy part of the added value of earning their degree at the UAB: the opportunity to gain work experience at an educational institution. Through a subject called ‘Work Experience in Companies and/or Institutions’, students gain employment experience and enjoy the chance to transmit knowledge.

Each student is assigned a secondary-school teacher who acts as his or her tutor. As ‘trainee teachers’, under the constant guidance of their tutors, the students design, teach and evaluate an entire educational unit.

Although this is considered an ‘end-of-studies’ subject, students are given some flexibility in choosing the location based on their class schedule.

The UAB draws up a ‘Work Experience Agreement’ that is signed by each student and host institution.
