Master's Degree in Health and Science Management

The Master’s Degree in Sciencie Management is a brand new and innovative learning itinerary developed in collaboration with Vall d’Hebron Institute of Oncology (VHIO) that aims to endow students with a cross-cutting view of scientific management in the biomedical area. The main objectives include the development of strategic vision and the potentiation of scientific management skills, to provide a 360º view of all the elements related to scientific management in research institutions.

The program can be completed following two itineraries. Option A constists of undertaking the Master degree, 60 ECTS, which includes modules 1-6, internship and the final master thesis. On the other hand, Option b consists of undertaking the postgraduate diploma, 30 ECTS, which includes modules 1-4 and a final diploma thesis.
Students wanting to undertake diploma (Option B)will need to complete a final diploma project equivalent to 3 ECTS once module 4 has been finished. Students enrolled in the Option A (Master degree) are exempted of it.
Academic content is aimed to fully prepare the students to adress and manage all professional challenges related to scientific research. The master aims to build an integral and transversal scientific manager figure, adquiring planning, strategic and leadership habilities to enter the professional world ready to face all the upcoming challenges.
Given the professional scope of the Master’s degree, we are committed to endorse the participation of students in the internship program. Therefore, the students will be able to apply all the knowledge acquired in key institutions of excellence at a national and International level, working hand in hand with outstanding professionals.
This is a Master’s program for everyone who wishes to take a step forward and learn pivotal skills about science management. For enthusiasts, either students or professionals, who want to become distinguished scientific managers.

Internships

Students will conduct a three-month internship equivalent to 15 ECTS that will be tutorized by both an academic tutor and a tutor from the hosting institution. Students will be able to do their internships in highly recognized research institutions at a national level. The final degree project will be carried out during the internship program (TFM).

The internship program will be compulsory to any student that wants to undertake the master degree. Students only undertaking Diploma 1 will not need to do the internship.

The main objectives include promotion of student’s professional activity in order to transform the acquired competences in the program. A unique opportunity to learn and get in touch with reference centres in scientific and strategic management.
