Introduction

The master's degree in Applied Microbiology provides advanced knowledge in applied microbiology. The syllabus gives students an integrated view of molecular and environmental microbiology applications through the compulsory modules and further training in clinical or biotechnological areas through the optional ones.

The master's great strength lies in its employment opportunities, with a total of 600 hours' compulsory external work placements in private laboratories, in research centres and in public institutions, allowing direct contact with the profession right from the beginning of the course

The master's degree in Applied Microbiology provides a quality education that allows graduates to build their career in science, whether academic or professional, in research centres, universities, hospitals and private firms specialising in pharmacology, biomedicine or food science, whose activity involves the detection, use or study of microorganisms.
The master's degree also meets the academic needs of researchers who wish to take a PhD in the field of microbiology.
