The Degree in Speech Therapy aims to prepare students for a professional future in this field. Speech therapy is focused on the assessment, diagnostic and treatment of disorders related to speech, voice and non-verbal oral functions such as swallowing, as well as oral and written languages and other forms of communication in children and adults. The functions of a speech therapist include the planning and carrying out of preventive interventions with the aim to reduce the incidence of these disorders and improve verbal and communication skills in healthy people.
The degree is structured into five blocks: scientific bases of speech therapy; communication, language, speech, audition, voice disorders and other non-verbal oral functions; speech therapy assessment techniques and tools; designing, planning and applying speech therapy interventions and developing professional skills. The syllabus includes a set of modules which will allow you to gain more in depth scientific knowledge related to this field as well as to learn about different aspects linked to speech therapy interventions in the areas of education, neurology, otorhinolaryngology, etc.
