Selection and acquisition of documents according to the received requests Non-professor users of the Library Service may propose new acquisitions by completing a desideratum or purchase suggestion form, that you will find on line. The requested documents should be related to the subjects taught at the UAB. Send the desideratum to the corresponding library and, in a week, you will be informed by the Collection Management Section on the decision taken about your suggestion. Professors should request the purchase of documents at the acquisitions unit of your library through the usual established channels (library co-ordinator or person in charge of the centre de cost) and in accordance with the processes specified in the Library Services Regulations. If you can not use the usual channels, you can also find the forms on line. You must print these documents and, once they have been properly completed and signed, submit them to your library. The requests will be assessed and they will be selected according to their purpose: research, teaching, recommended bibliography, general interest. In addition, the duplicity at the UAB, the number of potential users, the available funds and the availability on the market will be taken into account. Some documents can be acquired by donation or exchange. The acquisitions unit of your library and the collections' managers will be available whenever you need help about new materials, suppliers, prices or any other information about documental sources.
