The number of articles published by researchers at UAB shows a continuing upward trend in recent years, reflecting the impact of university research in the scientific community and society.
Thus, according to the Observatorio Actividad Investigadora en la Universidad Espaņola (IUNE) which analyzes UAB publications contained in the ISI-Web of Science, in 2010 UAB published 2132 articles, of which 1184 were in the first quartile of the Journal Citation Reports, reference index in the scientific world, which means that 58% of articles published by UAB are in the highest part of the JCR.
Taking consideration that in 2008 ISI collected a total of 1903 articles, of which 56% were in the first quartile of JCR, and 2085 articles in 2009, with a percentage of 57%, we can conclude that both the number of items included in this index as published in the first quartile has increased.
In this way and considering the analysis of new articles ISI-WOK and according to the study of I-UGR Ranking of Spanish Universities, UAB is leading in several scientific fields such as Veterinary Science, Social Sciences, Environmental Science and Economy.
If we analyze the scientific Scopus repository the upward trend is also clear, with 1492 articles in 2008, 1648 in 2009 and 1785 in 2010.
