PhD Degree

The graduate program in Mathematics of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona consists on the Official Master on Advanced Mathematics, together with its possible continuation in the form of a PhD degree. This program is a result of the well-established research activity of our Department, which is related to virtually all the branches of Mathematics. The objective of the graduate program is to turn students into new researchers in pure or applied Mathematics, capable of the development of first-level research activities, that will enable them to join existing research groups or to start new ones. At the end of the graduate program, students will be able to: Identify new, interesting problems for the mathematical community, and develop new tools in order to face them. Take an active part on research groups in Mathematics. Develop their scientific career.
