You may have up to six attempts, or convocatòries, at passing a module.
Students who were enrolled at the UAB before the 2004/05 academic year
If the course you are taking is a reformed course and you have already sat the exam five times, you may request that a board be formed for the final exam. You should go to your Academic Administration Office (Gestió Acadèmica) to make the request, which you will have to address to the Office of the Dean (Deganat) in your faculty or the Office of the Director (Direcció) in your centre.
Convocatòria de gràcia: If you fail a module six times, but you have passed more than 50% of the core and compulsory modules for your course, you may apply for a convocatòria de gràcia, which gives you the right to a seventh attempt at a module.
Students that enrolled at the UAB for the first time during the 2004/05 academic year
If you fail a module five times, when you take it for the sixth time you will have to be assessed by a board of examiners. The procedure used is the following:
1.The Office of the Dean (Deganat) in your faculty or the Office of the Director (Direcció) in your centre will appoint a board, which will consist of three lecturers from the subject or area of knowledge of the module being taken.
2.If you do not pass the module, you must apply to the Academic Committee (Comissió Acadèmica) of the Social Council (Consell Social) to continue your studies.
3.If your request is granted you may take up tutorials and you will be allowed to make two further attempts at passing the module, but these attempts must be made at the next two exam dates for the module.
If you only have one remaining module from your syllabus and you have failed to pass it three times, you may request that you be examined by a board of examiners at the fourth convocatòria. You should go to your Academic Administration Office (Gestió Acadèmica) to make the request, which you must then submit to the Office of the Dean in your faculty or the Office of the Director in your centre.
