Rector: Ana Ripoll Aracil
The highest level of academic authority in the University and is both the legal and institutional representative. The Rector's responsibilities include the headship, government and management of the University, as well as applying the policies approved by the collegiate bodies and putting the agreements made by these bodies into action. The Rector also presides the Senate, the Governing Council, the Governing Team, the Consultative Board and the Fundació Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (FUAB).
The Rector is elected by the university community by direct, universal, secret suffrage. The mandate lasts for four years and is only renewable for one consecutive mandate.
