Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona's art collection has grown over the past 40 years since our foundation in 1968. Our first logo, an identifying UAB emblem, created by the artist Josep Maria Subirachs, and outstanding masterworks of contemporary artists such as Aguilar, Alfaro, Benito, Caro, Corberó, Llimós, Navarro, Orensanz, Plazuelo, Solano and Vaccaro, among others, have been placed on our campus. The artistic heritage of the UAB campus presently consists of the spectacular columns designed by Andreu Alfaro and three sculptures on loan since 2005 from the Barcelona Museum of Contemporary Art (MACBA), in addition to the recent incorporation of Perejaume's artwork "L'Enclavament de Bellaterra" in the Faculty of Law area and other paintings and sculptures bought in 1989 to commemorate UAB's 20th anniversary. |
