Specialisation in Conflict, Peace and Global Justice

The Diploma of Specialization in Conflicts, Peace and Global Justice aims to equip individuals with the knowledge, skills, and tools needed to transform conflicts, promote peace education initiatives, strengthen community networks, and foster nonviolent action in educational, social, and community settings in both the Global North and the Global South.

The teaching staff of the Diploma of Specialization is made up of professionals from the School for a Culture of Peace (ECP), as well as faculty members and experts from Spain and the international arena, all of whom have recognized theoretical and practical experience in this field. The ECP has been a pioneering research center in Spain and internationally in the analysis of armed conflicts and the nonviolent transformation of conflicts since 1999.

The Diploma of Specialization in Conflicts, Peace and Global Justice, known as the Postgraduate Program in Culture of Peace from 1999 to 2025, is international in scope and has trained more than 800 students from different countries and with diverse academic and professional backgrounds. Currently renewed, it includes two Expert Diplomas: the Diploma of Expert in Peace Education, Conflict Transformation and Community Work for Global Justice, and the Diploma of Expert in Analysis of Armed Conflicts and Peacebuilding.

Career opportunities

Course aimed at training professionals in education (teachers, leisure education, informal education) and the community sphere (community work associations and entities, municipal community service services), in key concepts and strategies for educating for peace and global justice, through caring for coexistence, constructive conflict transformation and community participation and in social projects.

Course aimed at training professionals, journalists, social communicators, politicians, technicians of NGOs and intergovernmental organizations, activists, human rights defenders and all those people interested in understanding the international situation with a view to peace and contributing to the construction of peace.

Internships

UAB masters and graduate diplomas may include or facilitate external academic internships in companies or institutions in order to help the student to achieve a level of expertise that facilitates the insertion or promotion in the workplace.

For this study programme non-curricular (optional) internships are possible:

  As a UAB student, you have access to the University occupation portal, the Occupability Service, through which you can participate in selection processes for non-curricular practices as well as getting a contract. In both cases, you need to sign up to the Nexus application.
