This microcredential provides an introduction to accessibility in information and communication. It presents key concepts related to diversity, accessibility, and universal design, with a focus on content creators and professionals who wish to develop content for everyone, as well as professionals from both the public and private sectors (such as culture, education, local government, and related fields) who want to integrate accessibility into their work environments.

Through four units delivered over eight weeks, the course offers an overview of accessibility covering topics ranging from the definition of users, scenarios, technologies, and accessibility services to legislative and regulatory aspects. The course is aimed at a broad audience, including translators and linguists with a background in audiovisual translation who wish to deepen their knowledge of accessibility, as well as technicians, artists, cultural managers, entrepreneurs, organisations, and professionals from the public and private sectors who want to create, manage, or promote accessible content in line with current legislative requirements.

These are asynchronous online classes. Materials will be made available to students on the Moodle platform. Each unit lasts two weeks. At the end of each unit, that is, every two weeks, a tutorial session will be held during which students can raise any questions they may have. The scheduled dates for these sessions are December 10, January 7, January 21, and February 4.
